This page explains what shiftyplays.com collects and how to switch it off. It describes what the site actually does. If that changes, this page changes first.

Who runs this site

shiftyplays.com is run by Joel Rightler personally. For anything about this policy or your data, email joel@jandbcreations.com.

There is no account

The site has no sign-in, no newsletter, and no comments. It does not ask for your name, your email, or any other detail about you, so there is nothing of that kind to store or lose.

Analytics, only if you accept

If you accept analytics cookies in the banner, the site uses PostHog to understand how it is used and to spot errors: which pages are viewed, how far down a page you scroll, which links you click, and any JavaScript errors or failed requests the page hits.

These are keyed to a random identifier stored in a first-party cookie on your device that stays the same between visits, so your actions can be counted as one person's. It is not linked to your name, email, or account. PostHog also derives an approximate location (city level) from your IP address. We do not use session replay, and nothing here is used for advertising.

If you decline, none of it loads. No PostHog request is made at all. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer, and your choice is remembered on your own device for about six months.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

This site also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless: it counts page views and records performance timings without setting cookies or storing anything on your device. Because it stores nothing on your device, it runs whether or not you accept analytics cookies.

Pages here link to YouTube, Steam, and the stores for the games covered. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site, under their policy, not this one.
